Media Technician

MHz NETWORKS seeks a Media Technician to join our fast-paced Network Operations Center.

Job description

The Media Technician participates in completing specialized tasks and projects within the scope of the Operations Center at MHz. This individual needs to have a strong desire to learn and to use skills, concepts, and techniques in an entrepreneurial environment. Individual will be responsible for conducting all air switching functions as necessary to present a professional television image; monitoring multiple program distribution feeds through a control room consisting of video server playback, ingestion, and manual switching to air; and performing quality control and routing for incoming satellite feeds. The Media Technician must demonstrate competency in the operation of digital video servers for on air playback, transcoding or editing requests. Must also process technical work requests associated with editing requests and perform technical evaluations on all programming prior to air.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of five years’ practical experience in a Technical Broadcast environment. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills, including familiarity working in a client/server-based environment. Familiarity with computerized operations and the use of video servers. Previous experience with Final Cut Pro servers preferred. Flexibility to work 12 hour shifts, overtime, weekends, and/or holidays a must.
